Internet Relay Chat (IRC) Acceptable Use

IRC Code of Conduct

Wireplay, as a company, has to keep a positive public image in order to attract new users and keep existing ones happy, to slowly build upon and enlarge a diverse, thriving community. As Wireplay is a GSP (Gaming Service Provider), the game servers are at the very heart of achieving this goal. Another side of Wireplay is Internet Relay Chat (IRC), this provides users with help and support, as well as being a hub to join all gaming communities so that they can chat and help one another. Our primary IRC channel is #wireplay (Accessed using irc://irc.quakenet.org if you have mIRC). This is the place most new users go to first, and as such, this is where the forefront of our professional look must take place.

The following rules are paramount to ensuring an attractive and fun experience for all wireplay users:

Type 1 offence (Warn, Kick then Ban):

Scripts:

Type 2 offence (Kick then Ban):

Type 3 offence (Ban):

Type 1 offences are generally annoying and a warning must be issued first.

Type 2 offences are more serious in nature and require no warning.

Finally, type 3 offences are thoroughly unwelcome and will be met by a stern temporary ban of the operators choosing.

Any type 3 offences will be reported to the IRC Community Liaison, who in some cases will issue a Wireplay IRC channel-wide permanent ban.

If you feel that you were unfairly warned, kicked or banned, you must contact the IRC Community Liaison, ssmmdd. Pursuing such a claim must be done without impolite or abusive behaviour, ignoring this may worsen your case and may invoke a harsher sentence.

These rules set out above are not just for #wireplay, but for all other Wireplay game public channels.
