What should I avoid posting about?
You’ll find that the indigenous hordes on the message boards are generally a friendly bunch, but there are some posts that can really wind people up.
Who’s the best clan? – DON’T POST THIS! It is much akin to waving a very large red flag in front of a very angry bull… If you want to know which clans are doing best in the league or the ladder then visit those web sites. If you want to know which clans are most respected then either ICQ someone and ask in private or watch the message board and try to work it out for yourself.
Who’s the best player? – Avoid asking this for the same reasons as the post above.
If you post either of these messages you will be shouted at by a lot of people – they tend to lead to unpleasant arguments.
ANYTHING ALL IN CAPITALS!!! – typing in capitals (and especially typing Subjects of posts in capitals) is called Shouting, and will not make you any friends.
Sig test, please ignore – Signatures are described in full below. They are basically small pieces of text that will be attached to the bottom of every message you post (should you choose). It takes some time to get them right, and lots of people post new threads on the board to try and do this. Please avoid doing this – these threads clog up the board and are of no interest to anyone. If you want to test your signature you should use the Test Postings board – that’s what it is there for.
It is also a good idea to check back a few pages on the board before posting, to make sure that the topic you want to post about hasn’t been discussed recently. If it has then you would be better off adding your comments to the older post (thus bringing it back to the top of the message board).
