Any other tips?
Try to avoid writing extremely long chains of characters with no spaces. When you do this it extends the current page of the message board sideways, so people have to scroll horizontally to see the message. If you absolutely have to post a ridiculously long ‘word’ make sure you include spaces every now and then to allow it to wrap rather than stretch the board.
Avoid ‘Message Spamming’ – this is when you click the Submit button more than once, resulting in several identical posts. Only ever click the submit button once – even if it takes some time for anything to happen the chances are your post is being processed.
If you have a technical question, game request or wish to talk about another game you should have a look at the Main Forums list. There are message boards on Wireplay covering most topics and games, and your message board registration allows you to post on any of the boards without having to register again.
If there are lots of new messages on the boards it can be very expensive reading them all online (unless you are on an un-metered internet connection). If you are using Internet Explorer you can open the threads in a new window by holding down shift when you click on a link. You can use this to open up many threads at once, wait for them to download and then disconnect and read them offline.
One final thing – some of our more popular forums have people posting to them constantly throughout the day. A shortcut to refresh any page in Internet Explorer is F5 – if you want to keep up with the board in ‘real time’ you will need to have a window open with the main topics listing in it and press F5 every few minutes.
