Fortress Forever 2.0 Released

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Today has seen the highly anticipated release of Fortress Forever 2.0.  For those who’ve never heard about Fortress Forever, it is a free mod produced by the Fortress Forever team for the Half Life 2 Source Engine.  The mod is an adaptation of Team Fortress Classic for the modern era.  The only requirement to play is you simply require the Source SDK to be installed within the tools section of steam.  You should have the source sdk if you’ve purchased a source engine based valve game.

The Fortress Forever team appear to have been very busy with version 2.0 featuring in excess of 100 improvements from the previous v1.11.  For a full list of changes why not take a visit to the fortress forever website at http://www.fortress-forever.com/.

Currently patches are available for existing v1.11 users with a full 2.0 client release to follow.  For current v1.11 users you can simply download the patch to update your installation.  Patch is available from us at:

http|ftp

For new users eager to play, currently you’ll need to firstly download and install version 1.11.  To download visit http://www.fortress-forever.com/wiki/Downloads and pick a mirror from section ‘I need to download the whole mod!’.  Then, simply download the update and install that.

We are proud at Wireplay to also be hosts of some of the official Fortress Forever 2.0 servers.  These are located at the following locations:
