The Ignition program from Microsoft will use Xbox Live Marketplace, MSN and Zune platforms to deliver free music to approximately 30 million people worldwide.

UK band Maximo Park is the first act to participate in the new program and will have their debut single available free of charge on Zune Marketplace, Xbox Live Marketplace and via a stream on MSN.

Ignition is the latest in a series of similar initiatives including Xbox Live Artist of the Month and Game With Fame.
